Dear Friend,

We are very pleased to inform you that our Conservative candidate in Toronto—St. Paul’s in the upcoming election will be Jae Truesdell and you can meet him at our association’s AGM on Monday, July 15th.

Introducing Jae Truesdell

Jae Truesdell has called Toronto home for almost a decade, having moved here from Ottawa to build his career. Jae is committed to improving the lives of Torontonians and safeguarding the environment in and around the city. He is an advocate for affordable housing – a critical issue for every Torontonian, especially those in the mid-town Toronto neighbourhoods of our St. Paul’s riding.

Jae attended both the Harvard Business School and the London School of Economics, and has worked in the green energy sector (solar and wind power) and in the legal services branch of the Toronto and Region Conservation Authority. Most recently, as Senior Policy Advisor to Hon. Steve Clark, Ontario’s Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing, Jae has spearheaded policies that will spur new construction to help Ontario residents find affordable housing while increasing spending on desperately needed community infrastructure, including parks, transit and recreational facilities.

We are happy to have Jae Truesdell as our Conservative Party of Canada candidate in Toronto—St. Paul’s and look forward to working to elect Jae as the next MP from Toronto—St. Paul’s in October.

How you can help

We need your help in the months ahead! If you are willing to volunteer your time and energy in the coming months to help the riding association and, especially, the campaign to elect Jae Truesdell as the next MP from St. Paul’s as part of a majority Conservative government under Prime Minister Andrew Scheer, please email: stpaulsconservative@gmail.com to reach our nominating committee and campaign organisers and let us know how you’d like to help. There’s a place for everyone who wants to contribute.

A note on process and administration

For the past seven months the candidate search committee in Toronto – St. Paul’s has reached out to party members and area opinion leaders inviting them to express their interest in running or to recommend someone else who would make a great candidate to represent the Conservative Party of Canada and all leads were followed up. Interested individuals were informed of the CPC’s candidate application process, timelines and deadline and invited to apply. Only Jae Truesdell submitted a completed application by the deadline; he has passed the review process and has been declared our Conservative Party of Canada candidate in Toronto—St. Paul’s by acclamation. The official announcement by the CPC will take on Tuesday, July 2nd.

Finally, our association president for the past year, Jason Grossman, has taken on a new role with CIJA — the Centre for Israel and Jewish Affairs — and has had to step back from his position as our president. His resignation took effect May 28th when Nick Pozhke assumed the title of association “CEO” on an interim basis, per Elections Canada requirements.

Again, please be in touch by email at stpaulsconservative@gmail.com to let us know how you can help in the coming months. We hope to see you on July 15th. In the meantime, Happy Canada Day!

Sincerely,

Nick Pozhke
